Ubigi esim works just as described. I set it up before I got to Tokyo and it kicked in when we landed at Haneda. Still going strong here in Kyoto.

Very easy to get access

I bought from this company for a recent trip to Japan - needed ample data and speed. I found the plans fairly generous and picked one. What happens is your account is tied to that plan and when you're ready to install it, you click the link on the app. What I didn't know was that since my phone already had a physical sim and an e-sim, I would have to remove/deactivate one sim so this new installation would have space. I did that and when I came back, I was told by the app that I had used the click 5x and that I would have to delete my account. Obviously I hadn't clicked the link that many times (or if I did then I sincerely apologize, maybe I had itchy fingers or was trying it out) but there was nothing obvious in the instructions about not randomly clicking it or the 5 click limit. Anyway, I had to reach out to their support which was a bit confusing. I ended up having to chat with an automated bot until I got to a live agent. Which was great, right? But I was on a waiting list. And I ended up waiting at least half an hour before I stopped and looked for an email instead. I emailed them and finally got connected to a live person and was told I would still have to delete my account but they did say they'd replace the code for my e-sim in my account. I did that now making sure not to accidentally click and was able to enable my sim. It worked great in Japan - got mixed 4g/5g speeds and unless I was up in the mountains or boondocks, had great connectivity and speed. Will definitely be using them again when I go elsewhere!

I have been us Ubigi for a few years now. I like that as soon as I land and turn on my phone it works. I then go to another county and esim works great each time. I had one issue one time. It took about 45 minutes for the esim to start working. I'm not sure why this happened. All other times is was great. I keep using Ubigi because of the trouble free and easy website to top off an esim or check to how much data I have remaining.

Very user-friendly with good coverage every where we went. North American users need to remove SIM card to access E-SIM.

I recently had a trip to Switzerland and my usual mobile provider sim wouldn’t work there, so I purchased an e sim from Ubigi. Once the plane had landed in Switzerland I turned off airplane mode and the sim activated straight away. It worked well all the time I was there. I’d definitely use Ubigi again.
