Good to know

An eSIM is a SIM card that is embedded in a mobile device and can connect you to any operator offering eSIM services.

Furthermore, the e-SIM works the same way as a traditional SIM card, but you don’t need a physical SIM card to use it. It is actually pre-installed in the device and you can activate it by installing the “eSIM profile” of a new operator.

Actually, it is an evolution of the physical SIM card. More and more smartphones, tablets and laptops are equipped with an eSIM card.

To use Ubigi, your device must support eSIM technology. Compatibility depends on your device brand (Apple, Samsung, Google, etc.) and the model/version you own.

There are 3 easy ways to check if your device is eSIM compatible:

1. Dial *#06#
If an EID number appears on screen, your device supports eSIM.
No EID? Your device likely isn't compatible.

2. Use the Ubigi app
Open the Ubigi app on your device.
If it's not eSIM compatible, you’ll see an error message letting you know that eSIM isn’t supported. We’ll be happy to welcome you back when you switch to an eSIM-compatible device.

3. Check our compatible devices list
Search your device in our regularly updated list of eSIM-compatible devices.
Reminder: Your device must also be carrier-unlocked to activate an eSIM from Ubigi.
Devices bought from mobile operators may be locked and unable to install third-party eSIMs.

To access the Ubigi connectivity and connect to Ubigi services, you must first be equipped with an eSIM compatible and carrier-unlocked device.

If you purchase your data plan on ubigi.com:
– Go to our catalog on our website
– Select your destination and choose your data plan
– Follow instructions to complete your purchase

After your checkout, you will receive an email with a QR code :
– Hold & press the QR code or scan it. If you are unable to, open the email on another device to scan it and install your Ubigi eSIM data plan on your device.
– Click on the “Sign up” button in the email to create your Ubigi account and link your eSIM to it.

From there, you’ll be able to track your data usage in real time, receive alert notifications, and top up easily whenever you need.

If you purchase via the Ubigi app:
– Download the app from the App Store or Google Play, and create your account
– Browse the catalog and purchase a data plan
– Install your eSIM directly from your dashboard by following the instructions
