Purchasing and activation experience were very simple, was able to quickly purchase esim on airport wifi and activate before leaving customs! However while travelling, the service dropped randomly. I had to uninstall and reinstall the esim to get data service back. Not sure what the cause of this was but it worked after reinstallation.

Good experience signing up, price is good and I also received an honest discount from a code from YouTube creator. Sometimes I’ve used codes for other products saying X% off and it’s just pennies and discount not as stated. Service is excellent and can check usage on app anytime. We had great coverage around Japan
We had great coverage around Japan. We traveled between Tokyo, Osaka, and Hiroshima with great service. At one point the service dropped but Ubigi fixed the service promptly and provided us a discount for our next service as compensation for any inconvenience that the dropped service caused us.

How to check eSIM compatibility

Smartphones / Tablets:

Dial *#06#.
→ If an EID number appears, your device is eSIM-compatible.

Windows 10 / 11:

Press Windows+I.
Go to “Network & Internet”
→ If you see "Cellular", your PC is eSIM-compatible.

How to check carrier unlocking

iPhone / iPad:

Go to Settings > General > About.
Scroll to Carrier Lock.
→ If you see “No SIM restrictions”, your device is unlocked.

Android:

Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Mobile network.
Disable Automatic network selection.
→ If multiple networks appear, your device is unlocked.
