Worked well for our month trip to Japan
Ubigi worked all over Japan for us for a month, including in some less touristy areas of Shikoku. There was one evening where we lost signal for a bit in Tokyo but Ubigi fixed it and sent a discount code through for next time we needed an eSIM. Would use again.

Great esim, would recommend
Very reasonable price, using the app made the whole process much easier. Had a slight connection issue on the 2nd day, which has lasted a few hours. From what i understand this was a technical issue, and in fairness I received an email apologising for the loss of service with a discount code for my next esim the next day. Overall the service met all my requirements so very happy with Ubigi.

How to check eSIM compatibility

Smartphones / Tablets:

Dial *#06#.
→ If an EID number appears, your device is eSIM-compatible.

Windows 10 / 11:

Press Windows+I.
Go to “Network & Internet”
→ If you see "Cellular", your PC is eSIM-compatible.

How to check carrier unlocking

iPhone / iPad:

Go to Settings > General > About.
Scroll to Carrier Lock.
→ If you see “No SIM restrictions”, your device is unlocked.

Android:

Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Mobile network.
Disable Automatic network selection.
→ If multiple networks appear, your device is unlocked.
