It's good, but it could be better.
Compared to two other services I’ve used, Ubigi’s service was better. It wasn't *much* better, though, because in many urban areas in Japan, neither 4G nor 5G worked—only LTE. Still, the big advantage was that we rarely lost internet access.

Well worth the cost and primarily data was used on what’s app for calls back to the states and with friends around town during 2 weeks between Germany and Luxembourg doing a lot of google searches 15 euros for 10 gigs and Only 1.74 gigs of 10 was used as of day 13.

How to check eSIM compatibility

Smartphones / Tablets:

Dial *#06#.
→ If an EID number appears, your device is eSIM-compatible.

Windows 10 / 11:

Press Windows+I.
Go to “Network & Internet”
→ If you see "Cellular", your PC is eSIM-compatible.

How to check carrier unlocking

iPhone / iPad:

Go to Settings > General > About.
Scroll to Carrier Lock.
→ If you see “No SIM restrictions”, your device is unlocked.

Android:

Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Mobile network.
Disable Automatic network selection.
→ If multiple networks appear, your device is unlocked.
