For my first trip to Japan
For my first trip to Japan, I must admit that I considered a plan endorsed by a content creator. Nothing against him, but it was costlier! I carefully compared vendors, looked over plans, and ran some numbers. Ubigi made the most sense to me. It took zero learning curve and gave us the data we needed to navigate, communicate, and investigate all the things we wanted to research on the go. For our two-week stay, I got a 15-day unlimited eSIM plan and I got my wife a smaller data plan, mainly because I was doing most of the 'heavy-use' of map navigation and researching attraction information. Her plan did run out just short of the end of the trip. Need more? No problem. I got her eSIM topped up with a 3GB plan for $7.50 US. She happily used that data up which perfectly lined up with our trip timing. I'm extremely happy with how this worked so well for us!

GlocalMe screwed me. I found Ubigi!
Let me begin by saying that I purchased a Glocalme esim that did not install properly and was useless. Glocalme could not repair and would not reissue my esim. Lost my $47 USD. Ubigi install instructions were thorough, helpful and mostly automated. My Ubigi esim is working flawlessly! Thank you!

Ubigi for my Japan Trip
Ubigi has honestly helped me a lot for my trip to Japan, especially during my stay at Hokkaido. Mainly because I was mostly travelling to the rural southern part of Hokkaido, the KDDI/NTT Docomo connection networks provided by Ubigi actually helps to maintain a secure connection compared to other eSIM apps like Holafly, Saily etc.

It works immediately
It works immediately. The internet speed is fast. I also like the fact that I can use the same eSIM card next time. This will save me a lot of time trying to get an eSIM to work. Recently I have had two experiences in which I cannot get a downloaded eSIM to work from other vendors. It is really frustrating. Ubigi works right away and I will stay with Ubigi now.

How to check eSIM compatibility

Smartphones / Tablets:

Dial *#06#.
→ If an EID number appears, your device is eSIM-compatible.

Windows 10 / 11:

Press Windows+I.
Go to “Network & Internet”
→ If you see "Cellular", your PC is eSIM-compatible.

How to check carrier unlocking

iPhone / iPad:

Go to Settings > General > About.
Scroll to Carrier Lock.
→ If you see “No SIM restrictions”, your device is unlocked.

Android:

Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Mobile network.
Disable Automatic network selection.
→ If multiple networks appear, your device is unlocked.

You already have an eSIM in your cart.

Each order can only include one eSIM data plan.
