Reliable and Easy-to-Use eSIM for Japan Travel
I recently used a Ubigi eSIM during my trip to Japan and overall had a very positive experience. The app is extremely simple and straightforward, making activation quick and stress‑free. Once set up, I had mobile data for the majority of my trip without needing to fiddle with settings or restart my phone. The range of time‑based plans was really convenient, and the pricing was very competitive compared to other travel eSIM options and roaming charges. The only downside was that the connection occasionally dropped out — not just in remote or mountainous areas, but sometimes even in major cities and towns. It wasn’t constant, but it was noticeable at times. Despite that, I was happy with the service and would definitely use Ubigi again for future overseas travel.

The line is stable and fast, initially i got my esim from another company, and the usage shown in their system differs from what my phone indicated, decided to swap to ubigi and gave me 0 troubles, highly recommended.

I get reception everywhere I go in Japan. I go to Tokyo, oaska, and other places and still get reception for internet data. Very good and stable. It bounce between 5G and lte but always reliable which is what I need

Fantastic, except for one thing that I'm not sure is their fault
Everything was easy to set up, and worked perfectly for what I needed except for one thing. When setting up the second eSim, I could not text or call certain people. For some people it worked fine, for others, text and call did not work at all. And when i tried to manually set text and call to my normal provider and data to Ubigi, it would not save on my phone. I do not know if that's a problem with my phone, my original provider, or Ubigi. But it caused a small amount of problems during my trip.

Very good and seamless set-up experience with notification to activate once I landed. I haven’t tried others so can’t compare personally but hearing from the others traveling with me on how complicated their e-sim set-up, am happy with ubigi though slightly a bit more expensive in comparison to others.

How to check eSIM compatibility

Smartphones / Tablets:

Dial *#06#.
→ If an EID number appears, your device is eSIM-compatible.

Windows 10 / 11:

Press Windows+I.
Go to “Network & Internet”
→ If you see "Cellular", your PC is eSIM-compatible.

How to check carrier unlocking

iPhone / iPad:

Go to Settings > General > About.
Scroll to Carrier Lock.
→ If you see “No SIM restrictions”, your device is unlocked.

Android:

Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Mobile network.
Disable Automatic network selection.
→ If multiple networks appear, your device is unlocked.

You already have an eSIM in your cart.

Each order can only include one eSIM data plan.
