Self Assistance - eSIM activation

Then, you need now to check if your eSIM profile is activated on your device.

Go to: Settings > Connections > under eSIMs, select the installed eSIM profile (it will appear as “eSIM1, eSIM2,…” or under the name you renamed it).

Activate the profile by pressing the button on the right to turn it on (it will turn blue).

As soon as your profile is activated, a double network signal will appear at the top of your screen.

NB: the double network only appears if you also have a physical SIM card installed on your device.

Fast and reliable

Fast, reliable and pretty easy to use. I’ve never used an eSIM before and bought a Ubigi sim for my trip to Japan after doing some research online. I didn’t quite understand out to activate it but managed to work it out quickly enough. It always had service, especially in the quieter villages we went to and despite using it for Google Maps for 1300km of road driving, I barely cracked half of my allotment. Would use it again for sure!

Super convenient an reliable!

I used Ubigi eSIM during my trip and absolutely loved it! It was very quick to set up and super easy to use — I had instant connection right after activation. The internet speed was great, and I never had any issues throughout my travel. Highly recommend it for anyone who wants a hassle-free data experience!

Accessible WiFi

Worked well but took a little sorting out in settings

It wasn’t quite as simple as download and it will work when you get there. I had to go into settings to select the “travel” sim for mobile data. The sim itself worked perfectly all over Japan.
