No, the eSIM itself does not drain the battery of your mobile device. It consumes the same as a SIM card when using cellular data. However, being connected to two networks uses more energy than being connected to one network. The same goes for using your eSIM (or SIM) for sharing personal Hotspot, this would naturally drain your battery.

Very good coverage
Very good coverage, no problems to connect to the network even in the mountain like Kamikochi.
Get 5G network more often than 4G.

eSIM experience with Ubigi is great
The price is competitive with other data plans available for Japan, and the eSIM can be purchased in advance. After purchase I received clear instructions on how and when to activate the eSIM, and when to switch it on.
The coverage in Japan is very good. Unlike other eSIMs, it did NOT stop working after 3 days, and you can clearly see the data balance and validity if you install the Ubigi app.

Traveling from UK to Japan with Ubigi
As soon as I landed in Japan Ubigi was up and running and I didn’t have to worry about using my phone abroad. Thank you so much for the peace of mind this gave me.

Easy to use
It’s really easy to use and not expensive. The only problem is I sometime experienced short connectivity issues in big cities in Japon. Maybe that could be improved

Ubigi works!
We bought Ubigi for the first time for our Japan trip; I have to be honest, i was impressed it worked all the time! We were very happy with the service, never had issues on the subway, Shinkansen or even on the mountain of Kyoto of the monkey park! It would get signal everywhere!! The only time it slowed down was in the basement floor 2 while I was in the bathroom, but no issues anywhere else!

Ubigi surpassed my expectations
Ubigi surpassed my expectations. I used it in Japan and South Korea and the signal was great. I had high speed internet the whole time.
It was my first time using it, and what I enjoyed the most about Ubigi is that I didn't need to install a new eSIM when I got to a different country. I kept the same eSIM, and I just change the plan on the Ubigi App. I feel this is such a great feature that is not advertised enough.

How to check if a device is ready for eSIM?
Check eSIM compatibility
Smartphones & Cellular Tablets:
Dial (*#06#). If an EID number shows, your device supports eSIM!
Laptops (Windows 10/11):
Open your flyout (bottom-right corner). If Cellular settings are visible, your laptop supports eSIM!
Check Carrier Unlock
On iOS:
Go to Settings > General > About, scroll to Carrier Lock. If it says "No SIM restrictions", your device is unlocked!
On Android:
Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Mobile Network, turn off Auto network selection. If you see multiple available networks, your device is unlocked! If only one appears, or you get an error, it may be locked.
You already have an eSIM in your cart.
Each order can only include one eSIM data plan.
Current plan: •
If you choose to add a new one, the current plan will be removed. What would you like to do?
