What is a one-off and a recurring eSIM data plans?
You can buy one-off or recurring data plans from eSIM mobile service providers such as Ubigi.
A one-off data plan is a data plan that you buy for a one-time use. A recurring data plan is a mobile plan with a data allowance that is automatically renewed on a monthly basis. Ubigi proposes 12 months validity-period recurring data plans.
You will also pay upfront if you buy a recurring data plan, like a one-off data plan. You will not be billed monthly but at the date of the initial purchase for the total duration.

Network connectivity was consistent
Network connectivity was consistent. Setup instructions were slightly different than current iOS, so took a bit of time to setup. I did notice ubigi service didn’t activate upon arriving in Japan like Ubigi said it would, so I had to activate manually which was stressful enough getting thru the airport

Working well wherever I go
Working well wherever I go. Economical options for users who require quick chat. Would be an excellent option if they can find a way to make regular phone calls.

Simple installation and robust service
Last summer I installed an eSIM from Vodafone. The installation process was long and complicated including scanning QR codes, etc…. But Ubigi made it super simple by providing an app that adjusts almost ALL the setting (except for having to manually switch the data roaming toggle). The service has been perfect so far (Singapore and Thailand).

How to check if a device is ready for eSIM?
Check eSIM compatibility
Smartphones & Cellular Tablets:
Dial (*#06#). If an EID number shows, your device supports eSIM!
Laptops (Windows 10/11):
Open your flyout (bottom-right corner). If Cellular settings are visible, your laptop supports eSIM!
Check Carrier Unlock
On iOS:
Go to Settings > General > About, scroll to Carrier Lock. If it says "No SIM restrictions", your device is unlocked!
On Android:
Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Mobile Network, turn off Auto network selection. If you see multiple available networks, your device is unlocked! If only one appears, or you get an error, it may be locked.
You already have an eSIM in your cart.
Each order can only include one eSIM data plan.
Current plan: •
If you choose to add a new one, the current plan will be removed. What would you like to do?
