Many of the latest Android phones support the eSIM feature. An eSIM (embedded subscriber identity module) is a small electronic chip built into your phone or device that serves the same function as the small plastic SIM cards. Rather than inserting a physical SIM card, an e-SIM supported device can be programmed and reprogrammed as needed, allowing you to switch between carriers or cancel and start service without having to get a new SIM card each time, there is also no need for a SIM ‘ejector tool’ to remove the old SIM from your phone. Up to five virtual SIM cards can be stored on one eSIM at a time. This means you can quickly switch between different networks on your e-SIM supported phone if you find yourself in an area without a signal on your usual network. It also makes it easier switch to a local network while travelling, without needing to physically insert a local SIM. Using a carrier like Ubigi that connects to the local mobile network while abroad can be much cheaper than paying roaming costs to your regular operator. Not removing your physical SIM from your phone will also reduce the risk of losing or damaging it.
Android Tablets with an eSIM: ● PDA Gemini ● Surface Duo
If your device is not listed above, you’ll need to order a regular physical SIM card from Ubigi’s affiliate brand Transatel DataSIM. The all-in-one SIM card fits in any device (smartphone, tablet, laptop, and hotspot), and provides the same great service, data plans and coverage that Ubigi offers.

Ubigi eSIM data plans work on eSIM-enabled and network unlocked devices.
To check if your device is eSIM compatible, follow these steps:
Dial *#06#. If you have an EID code on the screen, your phone is eSIM compatible.
To check if your iPhone/iPad is locked or unlocked by your provider, follow these steps:
Go to Settings.
Select General.
Choose About/Information.
Scroll down to Network provider lock/Carrier lock. You will see either "No SIM restrictions" or "SIM restricted" in this field. Check here what to do if you have "SIM restricted".
To check if your Android device is locked or unlocked, please contact your original carrier. (You can also test using a different carrier in your home country, which is usually not possible with a SIM-locked device)
