1.You could turn off background app refresh.
Apps are constantly running in the background even when you aren’t using them.
How to turn off Background App Refresh on your iPhone and iPad :
Go to Settings.
Select General.
Select Background App Refresh.
Turn off Background App Refresh completely by toggling it off – you also have the option to set it to refresh an app only while using Wi-Fi or while using Wi-Fi & Cellular Data.
How to turn off Background App Refresh on your Android
From the start screen, pull down the notification bar for Settings.
Tap the gear symbol in the top right-hand corner.
In Settings, tap Connections, and then tap Data Usage.
From the Mobile section, tap Mobile Data Usage.
Select an app from below the usage graph.
Tap Allow background data usage to turn off.
Follow these steps for each app you would like to restrict from using Background App Refresh.
2.Avoid desktop versions of websites when browsing on mobile devices as they are optimised for small screen sizes and pages should be lighter to load.
3.Cache Google Maps for offline use to save time and data.
Use a Wi-Fi connection and open Google Maps.
Select Offline Maps and tap on Select your own map.
Zoom in or out to select the area you want to save for offline use.
Then press Download.
This feature is very handy when you are traveling abroad as you’ll be able to access the saved map without using data.
