The Fairphone 5 smartphone is equipped with an eSIM.
Thanks to the eSIM, you will be able to use dual SIM cards. It means that the eSIM on Fairphone 5 allows you to immediately connect to another mobile operator without using a physical SIM card.
To activate your eSIM, you need a wireless service carrier which provides you an eSIM profile as well as data plans. eSIM data plans availability may vary depending on country and carrier. Ubigi is one of the carriers that support eSIM for the Fairphone 5, in 200+ destinations, on the 5 continents.

Easy to sign-up, track and use with no issues
Easy to sign-up and login, seamless service the entire time in Japan and the app was an added bonus to track data usage. Would chose Ubigi hands-down again in the future.

Great service
I have used Ubigi a couple of times and recommend it to people. Normally it's been all good. My last trip I made a mistake and bought the wrong type of plan (I bought 'Germany' instead of 'Europe') which meant I had to either buy another plan or go without Internet. In future you shouldn't have the option to make that mistake. With jetlag etc, it should be easier to get a plan that covers Europe (which you have), without making the mistake.

How to check eSIM compatibility
Smartphones / Tablets:
Dial *#06#. → If an EID number appears, your device is eSIM-compatible.
Windows 10 / 11:
Press Windows+I. Go to “Network & Internet” → If you see "Cellular", your PC is eSIM-compatible.
How to check carrier unlocking
iPhone / iPad:
Go to Settings > General > About. Scroll to Carrier Lock. → If you see “No SIM restrictions”, your device is unlocked.
Android:
Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Mobile network. Disable Automatic network selection. → If multiple networks appear, your device is unlocked.
You already have an eSIM in your cart.
Each order can only include one eSIM data plan.
If you choose to add a new one, the current plan will be removed. What would you like to do?
