Extremely easy. Once set up, it automatically turned on when I landed in Portugal and and turned off when I landed back in the US. I had access to the internet, including the crucial Google Maps for navigating when others without an eSIM were unable to connect.

Reliable in Tokyo. But don’t panic it starts to work once you are on land not during airplane in Tokyo. I will be traveling to Kyoto so I am hoping it to be the same service. I read it is reliable in other areas around which is why I bought it unlimited 15 days.

How to check eSIM compatibility

Smartphones / Tablets:

Dial *#06#.
→ If an EID number appears, your device is eSIM-compatible.

Windows 10 / 11:

Press Windows+I.
Go to “Network & Internet”
→ If you see "Cellular", your PC is eSIM-compatible.

How to check carrier unlocking

iPhone / iPad:

Go to Settings > General > About.
Scroll to Carrier Lock.
→ If you see “No SIM restrictions”, your device is unlocked.

Android:

Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Mobile network.
Disable Automatic network selection.
→ If multiple networks appear, your device is unlocked.
