To purchase a Ubigi data plan on your iPad, follow these simple steps:
1. Open the iPad’s settings: Navigate to the Cellular Data section where you will find the option to set up mobile data, click on Find a new plan and select Ubigi.
2. Access the purchase: In iOS 17.4 and above, a native pop-up window on the iPad will allow you to access the purchase website directly. (This works even if your iPad is not connected to Wi-Fi).

Great service for a good price!
After searching the internet for great but affordable mobile e-sim providers I came across ubigi and after reading reviews about it on Reddit and other sites I was sold. And i can tell you it worked great. I added it a week before I left to Japan to my phone and it automatically activated when I arrived in the targeted country, which is very handy!
The reception is great anywhere I went mostly larger cities such as Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto but also Kanazawa and Koyasan worked great with mostly 5G reception. There were a few times I had to wait maybe 10sec to get a better internet connection but it was never an issue. I got 10gb for 2,5 weeks and I had 2,6gb left. So you don't need that much data if you just use it for some texting, surfing web, maps and gpt usage. My girlfriend did have more issues with the same package but in a Samsung S20. We don't know why.. but in the end it mostly worked fine for her too. So I can easily recommend Ubigi and will use it next time too!

Used in Japan, great connection 99% of the time as their network is very vast in size and coverage area is huge. Great prices overall I used the 10gb just incase, as I was not sure how much GB I would be using for GPS and other navigation stuff while getting around Tokyo. Travelled up to Sapporo and then visited family middle of Hokkaido. Was a bit tricky at first to get it running so anyone who uses this you really need to check the instructions on the steps to follow to guide you through the process.

Reliable and affordable
Definitely recommending Ubigi eSIM as it saved me a couple of times already. Been twice abroad when my usual service provider actually failed me and I was able to activate Ubigi plan while still abroad. Plus the tariffs are cheap and data always is enough for me.

How to check if a device is ready for eSIM?
Check eSIM compatibility
Smartphones & Cellular Tablets:
Dial (*#06#). If an EID number shows, your device supports eSIM!
Laptops (Windows 10/11):
Open your flyout (bottom-right corner). If Cellular settings are visible, your laptop supports eSIM!
Check Carrier Unlock
On iOS:
Go to Settings > General > About, scroll to Carrier Lock. If it says "No SIM restrictions", your device is unlocked!
On Android:
Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Mobile Network, turn off Auto network selection. If you see multiple available networks, your device is unlocked! If only one appears, or you get an error, it may be locked.
