What are the best options for mobile Internet in Paris?
For mobile Internet in Paris, one of the best options is using an eSIM. An eSIM is a digital SIM card that allows you to activate a data plan instantly without the hassle of swapping physical SIM cards.
The Ubigi app offers affordable and flexible prepaid eSIM data plans with excellent network coverage throughout the city and in over 200 destinations.
By using Ubigi, you can also avoid the risks associated with connecting to unsecured free Wi-Fi networks (knowing that 25% of travelers get hacked via public Wi-Fi). You will ensure a more secure and reliable internet connection. You can use it alongside your local SIM card, so you can stay connected in case of emergencies. We recommend using WhatsApp to avoid roaming fees.
Ubigi is the perfect choice for travelers seeking a safe, stress-free, and memorable trip. Check out our eSIM data plans for France here.

Data service was great; phone service was unreliable
Data service was great (in the Netherlands).
Phone service was a problem. The first 3 call attempts (2 from US to Netherlands, one from the Netherlands to the US) did not go through. At once once of them said "Network busy". The 4th one did go through... with no change to the settings.
A web search revealed this is a known problem with Ubigi. (I have a Google Pixel).

The purchase
The purchase, set up, and activation were all SO easy and seamless. We were able to land in a foreign country and have immediate data service which was so comforting to know we would have help via the internet (Google Maps, websites, etc…). For nearly 20 days in Japan, the connection and speed was excellent for our trip, except one evening when there was an outage. I realize this can happen with any tech company or internet/cell provider. But for several hours we had no access unless able to hop on free WiFi. Thankfully the timing for us worked out and we were able to manage just fine without, but could be quite the disruption if someone was relying on it. Definitely a good idea to have downloaded as many options for use offline for these cases (screenshots of ticket barcodes, Google Maps, Google Translate, hotel info, etc…) The outage was resolved by the next morning and Ubigi did make it right by providing a coupon code for the next time we need an eSIM. Despite the hiccup I would still use Ubigi next time as it really was so slick and the cost compared to what our cell provider international plan was a huge savings.

Poor start in Japan, great results for the rest.
The first two days of my trip in Japan, the cellular data connection was very inconsistent. I resorted to paying for my line overseas because it even stopped working at some point. Eventually, I received an email with an apology since my esim wasn’t working and it was amazing for the rest of the trip. It never failed once, never lost connection, remained at consistent speed no matter the location. I think what happened at the start of the trip was unfortunate, but it proved to be great for the rest of it.

I have been using Ubigi for a year now…
I have been using Ubigi for a year now and it has been great. Prior to this, I would always get a pocket wifi device. Ubigi has never failed me until this trip. The wifi went down when I was trying to traverse Kanazawa for the first time and it was kinda a pain. I did get a coupon for 50% off my next code, but it really could have been bad. Still, I will give Ubigi another chance since this was the first time in a year when it got messed up.

How to check eSIM compatibility
Smartphones / Tablets:
Dial *#06#. → If an EID number appears, your device is eSIM-compatible.
Windows 10 / 11:
Press Windows+I. Go to “Network & Internet” → If you see "Cellular", your PC is eSIM-compatible.
How to check carrier unlocking
iPhone / iPad:
Go to Settings > General > About. Scroll to Carrier Lock. → If you see “No SIM restrictions”, your device is unlocked.
Android:
Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Mobile network. Disable Automatic network selection. → If multiple networks appear, your device is unlocked.
You already have an eSIM in your cart.
Each order can only include one eSIM data plan.
If you choose to add a new one, the current plan will be removed. What would you like to do?
