How to manually set-up Ubigi’s APN for Windows 10 or Windows 11?
Windows 10: To manually set-up the Ubigi’s APN (Access Point Name) for Windows 10: – Go to Settings, > Networks & Internet, and select Cellular – Click on “Advanced Options”, then select “Add an APN” – In the APN field, just type “mbb” – In the APN type drop down list, select “Internet and Attach APN” – Click on Save – Switch to Airplane mode for a few seconds in the network bar, then activate cellular again
Windows 11: To manually set-up the Ubigi’s APN (Access Point Name) for Windows 11: – Go to Settings, > Networks & Internet, and select Mobile – Click on “Mobile operator settings,”, then click on the “Add an APN” button – In the APN field, just type “mbb” – Click on Save – After that, disable the Cellular option for a few seconds in the network bar and reactivate it to refresh the network attachment:

Works well, but account for gaps
The actual review is more of a 3.5 but most of the time the esim worked fine so I bumped it up. But I had a few cases where data would completely cut out, no signal bars at all, from anywhere from a few seconds to several minutes. The longest was a 15min period, where luckily I do have (slow) international data through my home carrier of TMobile. But it happened while I was on the train and was checking for the next stop, so I remember it very well since it gave me a spook. That said, 90% of the time I had no issues, but because I did have outages occasionally I feel it should be important to note in case someone who doesn't have international data runs into the same issue.

Easy & Simple to Use
Found Ubigi on the internet as a last minute solution to getting an in country SIM. The process was easy and set the set up flawless. The phone operated well outside the wifi areas we travelled, so pleased with the product. The price was a little steep for the 6 days I needed it that held it back from a 5 star review.

Fast, reliable and pretty easy to use.
I’ve never used an eSIM before and bought a Ubigi sim for my trip to Japan after doing some research online. I didn’t quite understand out to activate it but managed to work it out quickly enough. It always had service, especially in the quieter villages we went to and despite using it for Google Maps for 1300km of road driving, I barely cracked half of my allotment. Would use it again for sure!

Worked well but took a little sorting out in settings
It wasn’t quite as simple as download and it will work when you get there. I had to go into settings to select the “travel” sim for mobile data. The sim itself worked perfectly all over Japan.

How to check if a device is ready for eSIM?
Check eSIM compatibility
Smartphones & Cellular Tablets:
Dial (*#06#). If an EID number shows, your device supports eSIM!
Laptops (Windows 10/11):
Open your flyout (bottom-right corner). If Cellular settings are visible, your laptop supports eSIM!
Check Carrier Unlock
On iOS:
Go to Settings > General > About, scroll to Carrier Lock. If it says "No SIM restrictions", your device is unlocked!
On Android:
Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Mobile Network, turn off Auto network selection. If you see multiple available networks, your device is unlocked! If only one appears, or you get an error, it may be locked.
