We recommend not enabling the “Data Switching” option on your iPhone when using Ubigi, especially when you are abroad.
Why you shouldn’t enable “Data switching”:
Risk of additional charges: If this option is enabled, your iPhone might automatically switch data usage to your physical SIM card (your primary line). If you’re abroad, this could result in high roaming fees, which you likely want to avoid.
Maintaining control:
By disabling this option, you retain full control over which line uses mobile data, ensuring that your Ubigi eSIM is being used, especially to take advantage of favorable rates during your travels.
How to disable “Data Switching”:
1 – Go to Settings > Cellular Data.
2 – Make sure both of your lines are active.
3 – Disable the Allow Cellular Data Switching option under Cellular Data.
By following this recommendation, you’ll avoid unexpected fees and be able to use Ubigi optimally, without unpleasant surprises on your mobile data bill.
