I bought a Ubigi eSIM profile, but my phone is SIM-locked and I can’t install the eSIM profile. What should I do?
If your device is locked by the carrier you purchased it from, you won’t be able to install a Ubigi eSIM profile until the device is unlocked. To unlock it, contact your carrier and request an IMEI unlock (you will need to provide your device’s IMEI, which can be found in your phone’s settings).
Once your device is unlocked, you will be able to scan the QR code you received by email to install your Ubigi eSIM profile.
Note: Some devices have eSIM functionality but may not support it in certain markets or countries, even if the device is unlocked. In this case, we recommend contacting the device manufacturer for more information.

Use in south India
I was a bit confused and unsure how to set it up when I arrived in India and had to follow the instructions a number of times - but when set up no major concerns however I need to check that I have not been charged by my uk network. I think because I had eSIM previously it was easier- so I am tempted to use again - would be better to have more flexibility in data amount and days abroad - I bought more than I think I needed - I was not sure how to check how much data I actually used

I’m satisfied with the service. It is easy to pick data plan and connect when arriving the traveling jurisdiction.
There is one thing I want it to improve. The app logged out itself multiple times and I couldn’t log back in due to “error” although I entered the correct email address and the correct password. It frustrated me.

Great for Benelux use!
Ubigi eSIM worked great on my recent trip to Belgium and Amsterdam. It was easy to set up before I left home, so it worked immediately upon landing and I didn't have to spend precious vacation time working on my technology. I had plenty of data for a great price, much better than paying my U.S. carrier's daily fee for overseas use.

Had a setback with the app otherwise no Issues at all
Had a setback with the app. The app did not display the selection icons to allow me to install my Sim via the app on my Pixel 7. It also did not provide the QR code needed to install. Workaround was to uninstall app. Login to website via browser. Able to progress with install selections and given the QR code. Reinstalled app after and it verified the install is completed. Had NO connection issues whilst I was in Tokyo,Osaka,Kyoto. Had 5G when it's available(most areas) and 4G at least. Signal strength always awesome I use Google maps to get around extensively. Lost GPS a couple of times but was underground. DL speeds are reasonable to awesome. A bit pricey compared to other cheap options that my wife took. Hers work well too Ubigi is a package for various countries with loyalty programs; whilst my wife's was likely just a local Japan esim hence half the cost for unlimited. I paid twice for 25gb which I barely reached 15GB for my 10day trip.

Smartphones / Tablets:
Dial *#06#. → If an EID number appears, your device is eSIM-compatible.
Windows 10 / 11:
Press Windows+I. Go to “Network & Internet” → If you see "Cellular", your PC is eSIM-compatible.
How to check carrier unlocking
iPhone / iPad:
Go to Settings > General > About. Scroll to Carrier Lock. → If you see “No SIM restrictions”, your device is unlocked.
Android:
Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Mobile network. Disable Automatic network selection. → If multiple networks appear, your device is unlocked.
