Can I make phone calls with Ubigi eSIM data plans?


Ubigi eSIM provides data-only services. Thanks to Ubigi data plans, you will be able to connect to the Internet wherever you are in the world.

So, you can not make phone calls with Ubigi eSIM data plans but you can use iMessage and your favorite VoIP applications such as Skype, FaceTime, WhatsApp, Viber, Facebook Messenger, etc. By using these VoIP apps, you will be able to make calls and send text messages.

For iPhone users, you can also keep using your home-based carrier line to make calls and send SMS while using Ubigi mobile data. Calls and SMS will be charged by your domestic carrier.

Worth every penny

The app explained things reasonably well
The app explained things very well. The process of installing an eSIM is not simple but Ubigi did make it easier than I expected. I got a data package for a short stay in USA and used it with WhatsApp to call friends. However, data is no good for making regular calls to businesses, so I couldn’t call hotels and restaurants. Next time I will need to find a way to making those calls. Does Ubigi have that option? Overall Ubigi data plan worked perfectly for WhatsApp etc.

Great SIM service
SIM card activated on arrival and not before, which was perfect! Great coverage throughout Tokyo and theme parks as well. I would have been lost without it, so glad I went with Ubigi :)
